Here are some of the things couples often ask us when considering Waipuna Estate as their venue. And if you don’t find what you’re looking for here, we’re always happy to chat.

Waipuna can host up to 85 guests for a seated reception, or up to 100 for a cocktail-style celebration.

It’s never too early to book your preferred date! We recommend booking at least 12–18 months ahead for peak season dates, though occasionally we have last-minute availability. Get in touch to check our current availability.

All packages include exclusive use of the venue, ceremony and reception spaces, tables and chairs, glassware, a sound system and microphone, use of the grounds for photos, and an experienced Waipuna Event Manager. You’ll also have a detailed planning meeting 6–8 weeks out from your wedding. We have more details on everything that’s included in our information pack.

Yes, Waipuna Estate offers onsite accommodation for wedding couples and guests, making it easy to relax and enjoy your Christchurch wedding celebration all in one place. We have well-appointed bedrooms that can sleep up to 10 guests. Accommodation is included in all of our packages.

Yes, Waipuna Estate is a BYO wedding venue, giving couples the flexibility to choose their own beverages and create a celebration that suits their style and budget. Please note guests are not allowed to bring their own alcohol.

We have a list of trusted vendors we’re happy to recommend, but you’re welcome to bring in your own. The only requirement is that caterers are registered professionals.

We’ve got you covered — literally. Our all-weather terrace and indoor reception space mean your day will run smoothly no matter the forecast.

If you've booked venue hire only, you'll usually have access for two hours the day before to set up and run through a rehearsal. On the day of your wedding, arrival times are arranged with you in advance to suit your plans.
If we happen to have another event the day before, we’ll work with you to make sure you still have the time and access you need — we’ll never leave you short.

We offer a detailed pre-wedding planning session around 6–8 weeks out, and on-the-day coordination. If you’re after more support, Sarah from The Wedding Scene offers professional planning and coordination services.

Most areas of the venue are wheelchair accessible, including the main reception space, lawn and terrace. Let us know your needs and we’ll make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable.

Yes, taxis and Ubers do pick up from Waipuna Estate, though due to our rural location we always recommend pre-booking transport in advance.

Your deposit secures your booking and is non-refundable. Full payment terms and cancellation policies are outlined in your contract, and we’re happy to walk you through them when you book.

You can enquire via our contact page or book a viewing. Once you’re ready to confirm your date, we’ll send you a contract and deposit details. We require a 20% deposit, and we’re happy to discuss payment plans for the remainder of your fee if required.
